while I agree to a degree.. I still think the lead female gave a solid performance, everyone else not so much, but it’s the feeling of being trapped and being restricted with what you can do to protect your unborn child, as a parent you would do anything to stop any harm coming to them, but when that child is inside yourself you cant put yourself in harms way either, effectively you are helpless. I think its one of the better new wave french horror and although I have only seen it
he once the brutality and anxiety was enough to stay with me…

I had forgotten about the police. I’m willing to accept the foolish police trope if the rest of the film is up to snuff. This wasn’t.

No doubt this is a messed up film as far as the gore is concerned. But you are definitely correct when you say, “This was clearly an exercise in bloodshed for the sake of bloodshed and I cannot get behind it”.

There’s virtually no effort in terms of story and the police are farcical! If France is full of police like that, I’m never visiting again! Disturbing, yes but not necessarily good.
